Benelli has begun production of the new TRK 602 X, which is set to take the place of the popular TRK 502 X.

First announced at EICMA 2025, the TRK 602 X is driven by a 554cc parallel-twin engine promising 55.2 bhp at 8250 rpm and 40 lb-ft of torque at 5500 rpm. That’s a good step up from the 47 bhp and 33 lb-ft offered by the outgoing TRK 502 X.

That output boost does push the bike out of A2-license territory, but Benelli says there will also be a down-tuned A2 version.

Benelli describes the TRK 602 X as “heir to the 502 and a new benchmark for those who love to travel,” promising “more fluid design, updated chassis, and… more torque and riding pleasure.”

The bike has big shoes to fill. The TRK 502 X was the best-selling motorcycle in Italy for a number of years, and has performed reasonably well elsewhere, too. In the United Kingdom, for example, it was the best-selling 500cc+ Chinese-made bike until the Voge DS900X arrived.

Founded in 1911 in Pesaro, Italy, Benelli has been owned by Qianjiang Motorcycle since 2005. Benelli was a pioneer of the ‘made in China, designed in Italy’ philosophy that we’ve seen repeated by Morbidelli and Moto Morini. Benelli’s motorcycles are designed, developed, and marketed from Pisaro.

The TRK 602 X appears to be equipped with the same engine as the QJMotor SRT600S.

Benelli’s parent, Qianjiang, is also the force behind QJMotor. The TRK 602 X’s engine specs appear to be identical to the powerplant used by the SRT600S, which is a bike I spent some time riding recently. I’m hoping to have my review of that bike up very soon, but I’ll offer a teaser in telling you that its engine is easily one of its highlights.

The parallel twin is not immensely powerful, but it has all the ‘go’ necessary for long-haul motorway work and it sounds fantastic. It’s also got enough grunt for some (very) light off-road work. Farm roads and fire trails – that sort of thing.

A 235kg wet weight means it might not be your first choice for serious off roading, but it looks the part.

As we’ve come to expect from Chinese bikes, the TRK 602 X will be packed with technology, including a 5-inch TFT display, dual USB port, connectivity, riding modes, and a switchable traction-control system. You also get a center stand, engine bars, and an aluminium sump guard as standard.

All this is stuff that’s also found on the SRT600S, but if the pricing is similar, I’d choose the Benelli solely for aesthetics. Pricing has not yet been announced. Indeed, we don’t yet know exactly when the bikes will be available in dealerships, outside of Benelli’s promise that they will go on sale across Europe “later this year.”
